Autumn Equinox

Autumn Equinox - 22nd September

Possibly my favourite time of the year.  A time when the abundance in the woodland and hedgerows and the fruits of my labour have reached their peak. A time to begin to reflect on the season and make decisions about what to take forward into the winter. In this artwork I am adding herbs I’ve gathered into a giant pot of autumnal stew. I’ve wanted to draw the Gundestrap Cauldron ever since seeing it at the British Museum many years ago. A friend of mine holds an Into the Cauldron online class every winter and I love this metaphor of the cauldron and how we can create time to hibernate and incubate ourselves moving into the darker half of the year. I’ve also included some beautiful Celtic fire dog which are on display at St Fagans, the museum of Welsh folk history, a favourite place of mine to visit.

The artwork is printed onto 100% recycled 300 gsm card which has a smooth, white finish.  All of The Moon and the Furrow greeting art prints are printed without water or chemicals onto 100% recycled paper or paper from sustainable managed forests, all inks are vegetable oil based and all toners are new generation eco-friendly.
