Air - The Heron

The ethereal energy of air rules the spring. Air is associated with our minds and thoughts, planning and organisation. The heron is patient, a sentinel, wise, mysterious and graceful. In Celtic mythology the heron is associated with sacred knowledge, aguardian of the subliminal worlds, embodying adaptability, transition and transcendence. Its patient and solitary nature make the heron a symbol of deep contemplation and spiritual understanding.

This handkerchief is sewn by me in the caravan I live in on a farm in Mid Wales. The fabric is 100% organic cotton. The approximate size for each handkerchief is 320 mm x 320 mm. 

This artwork was painted in natural pigments for the Oil and Oak Open exhibition in summer 2026.
