The kitchen is the heart of my home. Despite living in a caravan we have dressers and shelves full of cook books and jars and jars of food and spices from around the world and a lot of locally foraged and preserved food. One of the bedrooms has been converted into a larder and we have a bounty of wild plants and trees surrounding us.

I have a large collection of vintage tea towels, which are used on a daily basis. I use them for washing up, of course, but also for wrapping food, taking on picnics and camping, serving food, keeping things warm, keeping the flies off and many more practical uses. I am particularly partial to those recipe tea towels from the 1970's and 80's and this is my tribute to those super saturated and detailed designs.
